Amazon Wireless Smart Phones, AT&T, Verizon, Sprint, & T-mobile For 1 Penny!

Amazon is famous for almost anything that you can buy on the web. So what's different about their new wireless.amazon.com beta site?

In the past you would be able to purchase a cellphone and accessories through Amazon's homepage by simply typing in the brand and carrier of a particular phone.

Amazon's new wireless site allows you to skip the hassle of dealing with a carrier in order to get a great deal on a new cell phone. You can also check to see if you're eligible for an upgrade without leaving the site.

I was so impressed with how easy it was to step out of the dark ages and into a new smartphone with Amazon Wireless, that I decided to do this review.

I was on the site for about an hour before I picked out T-Mobile's G2 with Google Android. Review coming soon!

The reason I stayed so long is because I couldn't peel myself away from the detailed descriptions and reviews for each phone.

I ended up picking this particular phone because of the high reviews. The low monthly bill that T-Mobile offers, caught my eye as well. I was able to research and execute all of this information through the Amazon Wireless website.

Amazon is able to sell discounted phones for a fraction of the price. Don't be fooled by the price you see. I paid just $49.99 for my G2!

I was in the market for a new smartphone and also wanted to switch carriers. I was able to do this very easily from the Amazon wireless site.

I filled out a short application form to get credit approval. It says, that it takes up to 24hrs. for approval but, mines was instant.

I also kept my current number by choosing to do so from their checkout options.

If you choose to stay with your current carrier, you can do so easily. Just pick a phone that's compatible with your carrier, and then select your data package. Your current wireless plan stays in tact.

At check out you'll see the balance due and your new monthly payment. Be sure to read your carriers disclaimer, you may find an additional discount like I did. By activating automatic withdraw, I'll save an additional 4.99 a month with T-Mobile. ( this is the only thing that you'll have to do through the carrier )

You'll be able to view your wireless carrier's policy and Amazon's policy before checking out.

So What's The Catch?

There's one small detail that's not significant unless you plan on terminating your service before 181 days.

If you do so you'll end up owing Amazon $250. Basically, they want the savings back that you were awarded at checkout.

I think it's a fair policy, considering that some of their phones are as low as 1 cent!
